You are welcome to browse most portions of the Articulate Instruments web site without becoming a registered user. For some services or areas on the site, we may ask that you register if you have not already done so and provide us with information about you and/or your company such as name, job title, email address, and other types of information which enable us to provide services and information to you. Discussion groups
f you participate in any discussion group forums or use other interactive tools (such as message boards or chat rooms) available on or through the Articulate Instruments site, you should use care not to disclose your personal information. In general, such forums may be viewed by others who visit the site.
The discussion group forum uses an implementation of the opensource PHPBB2 bulletin board software (http://www.phpbb.com/). To register for discussion group access, only a username, email address, and password are required. This information and any posts that you make are stored in an encrypted MySQL database on the articulateinstruments.com server and are not accessible to third parties.
The PHPBB2 system provides for private email and messaging among registered users which allows you to communicate without sharing email addresses.
PHPBB2 tracks the IP addresses from which posts to the discussion groups were made, as do most bulletin board programs. This information could be used to determine who had made a post.
PHPBB2 uses cookies to authenticate users - i.e.: when you login to the discussion groups, a cookie is placed on your machine so that you only have to log in once. These cookies are erased when you log out of the forum system.
The Articulate Instruments site currently uses cookies only in relation to the discussion groups.
Articulate Instruments strives to have in place appropriate means to protect your information. However, in providing your information over a public or third party network, you do so at your own risk.
